We should pursue holiness daily. What is holiness you ask? Holiness is simply separation unto God. Separating yourself from wicked, evil, carnal things to a spiritual satisfaction found in Jesus Christ alone. The world offers temporary relief from trials, troubles, tribulations, heartaches, and pain but with Jesus their is eternal salvation, contentment, and satisfaction. God always looks out for, shields, provides, and protects that which is His.

When we pursue holiness we become free from the power of sin. We are no longer seeking self satisfaction but seeking those things that are pleasing to God. Being pleasing to God becomes satisfying and fulfilling.

What pleases God?

Romans 12:1

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

2 Corinthians 5:9

Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.

Colossians 1:10

so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

1 Timothy 2:1-3

First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

It is also pleasing to God when we have faith in his Son.

1 John 3:22-23 New King James Version (NKJV)

22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

Now let our conduct be fitting and appropriate for holiness.

What are your conversations like?

What music are you listening to?

What television shows are you watching?

What movies are you watching?

What type of books are you reading?

Are your clothes holy? Is your body covered appropriately?

Does your entertainment and recreation involve God?

This is pursuing Holiness when we start thinking like this. Our words and deeds have a great impact on the people around us. People need Jesus. People need to see the church relying on Jesus; not the government, lawyers, or doctors. Jesus has everything we need and an unbelieving world needs to come to know this by the work of the church. Amen!!!!
