We are fastly approaching Easter Sunday. This is the event when Jesus Christ was buried in a borrowed tomb. The religious leaders of his time did not like the messages that he preached and the miracles that he performed so that set Jesus up in a false Jewish trial and had him crucified between two thieves. They thought  that was the end. They were rid of that Jesus or so they thought. Jesus, God’s Son, was raised back to life by God Himself. Just like the song says:

Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Luke 24:6-8 New International Version (NIV)

He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee:‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ Then they remembered his words.

Psalm 30:1

30 I will praise you, Lord!
You saved me from the grave
    and kept my enemies
    from celebrating my death.

John 11:25 – Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Jesus is alive. He was raised from the dead. Those who believe will be raised from the dead also when they die. This is why believers celebrate. The devil thought he had won. The devil thought Jesus was defeated but Jesus overcame death and the grave. Jesus is an overcomer and so are we. Dictionary.com says this means to to get the better of in a struggle or conflict;conquer; defeat: to prevail over (opposition, a debility, temptations, etc.); surmount: to gain the victory; win; conquer. Christians have prevailed, Christians have conquered, Christians win. Jesus 75, devil 0. Wasn’t even really a competition. Jesus whipped his butt with the cross. Amen
